State Sen. Rob Standridge has been elected to a top leadership position for the 57th Legislature.  During the 2019 and 2020 legislative sessions, Standridge, R-Norman, will serve as Majority Whip for the Senate Republican Caucus.

“This is a tremendous honor. We’ve worked hard to strengthen Oklahoma’s budgeting process and promote economic growth as well as making critical investments in our schools.  Our criminal justice reform initiatives are already showing positive results for our state,” Standridge said.  “I look forward to helping promote and win passage for an agenda that will build on these successes in the coming years.”

Standridge said he had appointed Senators Julie Daniels, R-Bartlesville, Casey Murdock, R-Felt, and Marty Quinn, R-Claremore, to serve as Assistant Majority Whips. Standridge will also serve as chair for the Senate Transportation Committee during the 57th Legislature.

“Our transportation infrastructure is vital to our economy in multiple ways. It’s critical from an economic development standpoint as well as public safety.  Our state has made tremendous strides in addressing dangerous bridges and made important advances toward modernizing our transportation system,” Standridge said.  “We must continue that commitment on behalf of the citizens of Oklahoma.”

In addition to his leadership posts, Standridge has also been appointed to serve on the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, the Energy Committee and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Natural Resources and Regulatory Services.
